May 28th 2021 (this meeting was held online via Zoom)
Transport around the World - a presentation by Ian Copplestone
The programme showed some of the forms of transport that may be encountered during a circumnavigation of the world.
We journey through the Caribbean, transit the Panama Canal (as seen above), call at San Francisco, cross the Pacific to Sydney, fly over the Great Barrier Reef, continue to Hong Kong and return via Suez.
We saw trains, planes, buses and trams - some of which are everyday, while some are downright wacky. We reckon there was something to interest everyone!
(** Members were circulated with Zoom invitations a week in advance.)
