We organised a visit to the FoNFA museum in the New Forest, on Saturday 3rd August.
This was a visit specially arranged just for RCNF members, and we were impressed that so many of the museum staff turned out to make us welcome.
The museum is equipped and laid out in a very smart and efficient manner, and boasts an impressive display of information and memorabilia. We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours there, but that hardly sufficed to appreciate more than a small sample of what was on offer.
A good few of us have resolved to make at least one return visit!
Finding your way
A handy street map* is shown below to locate the site, and an area sketch (not to scale) to locate Bransgore.
Enter the Heatherstone Grange estate from Derritt Lane onto
Marryat Way and turn immediately left; follow
Arnewood Drive round the estate, turning left again at the T-junction
and then right into Mosquito Way. The Centre is found ahead on your right.
The housing estate is fairly new, so an older satnav may not find the exact
location from the postcode BH23 8AU, but it should take you to
Please note that Google-maps does not show the latest street scene for the Centre, but you can find very helpful up-to-date info on the AA website, also the Ordnance Survey and Street-Map websites.
(*Thank you FoNFA)
