Confessions of a Narrow Minded Enthusiast was brought by Colin Brading

Miniature railways have been bringing pleasure to many at seaside resorts, parks, zoos and stately homes for over a century.

With other private and model engineering society tracks there are more than 300 such railways in Britain today. One of the most famous, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, is a true main line in miniature. On rails just 15 inches apart, splendid one-third full size steam engines built in the 1920s haul trains for 14 miles alongside the Kent coast. There is even a bar coach! Its motto 'Multum in Parvo' - meaning 'much in little' - perfectly summarizes the big story of these fascinating little railways.

An absorbing evening covering many tracks both near and far (including continental)
