We aim to get together once a year in August for an outing of interest to Steam Rail buffs, and this will be advertised well in advance in the monthly meetings.
The Christmas Dinner is a social event much enjoyed by the regulars, and friends and family are welcome to join us in a local venue.
Who we are
Steam Railway enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes, and
we are no exception.
Mostly (but not exclusively!) male, with a spread of ages,
we love to hear tales of the iron road, from all over the world, not only from
our own locality in the New Forest, and not limited to steam traction either.
Our speakers usually have an engaging selection of
illustrations, and manage to keep us fascinated for a whole evening every
month. Dates and details may be found on the Calendar page.
We gather at the Community Centre in Cannon Street, Lymington
in time for the meeting to start at 7.30pm.
A short break for refreshment is made about the half-way
mark, and we aim to finish about 10pm.
A one-off visit will cost you £4 this year, but if you plan
to come along more often, a member’s card for £20 will prove cost-effective for
the 10 sessions we enjoy.
If you are not sure how to reach the venue, check out the
page on How to Find Us. ( If you look at the Community Centre website you will find a mine of interesting
info, but not always listing our meetings.
Be aware that the post-code for their mailbox is in a different street,
so don’t use it for your sat-nav! )
